An evening of live music curated by Wells singer-songwriting duo The Portraits will raise funds for the new Wells Contemporary Music Centre based at the city's Portway Annexe building.

The Portraits - Lorraine and Jeremy Millington - are best known for their Christmas cover of Phil Oakey and Giorgio Moroder's Together in Electric Dreams which featured a cast of young musicians and singers from Somerset and reached No 2 in the iTunes chart in December 2020 in memory of all the lives lost during the Covid-19 pandemic.

The song featured on ITV's This Morning, BBC Radio 2's Steve Wright in The Afternoon, Channel 5's Jeremy Vine Show and was backed by Stephen Fry, Midge Ure, Matt Lucas and a host of other well-known figures.

Now, on 2nd December, The Portraits are curating a night of music featuring an array of talented local musicians to raise funds for the new Wells Contemporary Music Centre, culminating in a special set by The Portraits themselves.

Tickets are £10 from theportraitsmusic.com and include a glass of mulled wine or juice and a mince pie.
