The Bishop's Palace is one of the iconic buildings in Wells that is being recreated in mosaic as part of the Wells in Mosaic project - a community project to install a beautiful piece of permanent art in Wells. The completed work, a 6 metre wide circle, in the form of a walkable map of our historic city centre, will include many other famous landmarks and features that are so familiar.

Wells in Mosaic will create a legacy for everyone to enjoy for centuries to come; the photographs illustrate how the mosaic is progressing (it's all prepared in reverse) and, in particular, the staggering attention to detail.

Siobhan Goodwin, Community Engagement Manager at The Bishop's Palace says "We would really like to support this community project by sponsoring The Bishop's Palace building, so beautifully recreated in mosaic. The total cost is £1,500. Anyone who would like to help us to do this and own a special piece of history can make a donation via the Palace's website."

She adds "Everyone who makes a donation of over £10 will receive a special certificate and all donors will also have a chance of winning a VIP day for themselves and two guests at The Bishop's Palace. This will include a special tour, lunch and a chance to feed the famous Palace swans (if they decide they're hungry of course!)."

Another prize includes the opportunity of winning an exclusive visit to the Wells in Mosaic workshop, where the winner and two guests will meet the artist Ruth Ames-White and see the mosaic being created.
