The Bishop's Palace in Wells would love to hear from individuals interested in spending some of their spare time sitting in the comfort of an 800 year old palace!

The Palace has launched new audio visual guides for visitors which are designed to provide 45 minutes of interactive content bringing the stories and history of the Palace to life. With a choice of an adult version or one tailored for a more family audience volunteers are now needed to greet visitors inside the Palace building and help them to use the new devices.

These 'Palace Welcomer' volunteers will be provided with all the necessary training and become part of a friendly team of over 150 volunteers, many of whom have been with the Palace for years. The longest serving volunteer has been with the team for almost fifty years!

Volunteering sessions can be for as little as a couple of hours and it is not essential to commit to a particular day or time or to be particularly proficient in tech!
