The Glitter Run Remix in Wells is fast approaching and there's still time to sign up to support St Margaret's Hospice while getting covered in glitter, bubbles and powdered paint.

Hundreds of families, friends and colleagues are already looking forward to the colourful 5k fun run.

The venue for the Glitter Run Remix is the Bishop's Palace in Wells on Sunday, June 9.

St Margaret's Hospice corporate fundraiser Sadie Ellison, and Chris Smith and Lee Nunn from headline sponsors Western Power Distribution (WPD) enjoyed a taste of what runners can expect when they tried out the biodegradable glitter and bubbles.

Sadie said: "Our supporters are in for a fun-filled time as they run or walk through glitter and bubble stations before a powder paint party to round off the challenge.

"Even better, by taking part and raising sponsorship they will be helping us to care for people across Somerset who are facing a life-limiting illness."

Tracy Carr, corporate communications officer from WPD, said: "The Glitter Run Remix is a great opportunity for families, friends and colleagues to support the amazing care given to patients and their families at the hospice while enjoying a colourful and eventful day."

WPD is continuing its support for St Margaret's Hospice, following the success of a volunteering project last year.

A group of apprentices from the business completed a major renovation of the charity's retail distribution warehouse, as well as collecting 2,000 bags of donations for its shops.

Last year St Margaret's Hospice supported more than 3,800 people facing life-limiting illnesses, as well as their families and carers. The hospice is hoping the Glitter Run Remix will raise enough funds pay for five whole days of care across Somerset.

Participants can save £5 per person by booking in advance instead of just turning up on the day.
