Nurture lands six Petplan award nominations

A Somerset veterinary practice and six members of its team are celebrating after receiving six nominations in the 2026 Petplan Veterinary Awards. Nurture, which has practices in Wells and Weston-super-Mare, has itself been nominated for Practice of the Year.

Six members of the team have also been singled out for individual recognition. Beth and Rob have each been nominated for Vet of the Year, while Lisa and Eviee are in the running for Vet Nurse of the Year. Cat and Kat have both received nominations for Practice Support Staff of the Year.

Nurture, a sponsor of Nub News, said the recognition meant a great deal to the whole team because nominations come from clients and colleagues who have first-hand experience of veterinary practices. The independent business said its vets, nurses, reception staff and wider support teams all play a part in the care provided to pets and their owners.

The Petplan Veterinary Awards are now in their 27th year and recognise individuals and teams working in veterinary practices across the UK. Petplan says the awards celebrate those providing care for pets as well as support for their owners.

Nominations for the 2026 awards remain open until midnight on Friday, 4 September. Petplan says the eventual winners will be selected by independent judges, with decisions based on the content of nominations rather than the number received.

Nurture thanked its clients for their continued support and those who took the time to put the practice and its staff forward. Six nominations is quite a haul — and gives the Wells team several reasons to keep an eye on this year's results.
