Next month, Somerset is set to turn a vibrant shade of yellow for a week-long fundraiser in support of St Margaret's Hospice.

The charity's much-anticipated "Wear it Yellow" campaign is back, and it's promising to be bigger and better than ever before.

From Monday, October 9, to Sunday, October 15, schools, workplaces, and supporters are being encouraged to participate in this exciting event during Hospice Care Week. This year, Hospice Care Week will revolve around celebrating hospice staff under the theme of 'We are hospice care.'

St Margaret's Hospice, along with hospices across the UK, will don yellow attire to honor hospice care nationwide and the remarkable efforts made to ensure that everyone can receive the best end-of-life care.

There are countless fun ways to get involved in the Wear it Yellow campaign this year. Whether it's transforming your office into a sea of yellow, donning your finest yellow outfit, decorating your workspace, or whipping up a delectable lemon drizzle cake for a Wear it Yellow bake-off, there's something for everyone to enjoy.

To get started, you can request a free fundraising pack by visiting the St Margaret's website. The website is brimming with resources to spark your creativity. Additionally, you can visit one of the charity's shops to pick up your yellow outfit and have a blast during Wear it Yellow week while raising essential funds to support hospice care.

Kerry Baillie, the Community Partnerships Manager at St Margaret's Hospice, expressed her excitement for this year's Wear it Yellow event, saying, "We're so excited for Wear it Yellow this year and can't wait to see our community come together and get creative while turning Somerset yellow."

She encourages participants to share their pictures on social media using the hashtag #wearityellow, helping Somerset shine in yellow this October to celebrate hospice care.

Every pound raised makes a significant difference and enables St Margaret's Hospice to provide vital care and support to patients and their families throughout Somerset. Whether you donate £1, wear yellow to work, or host a bake sale, every bit of support is genuinely appreciated.

This year, St Margaret's aims to raise £10,000 through its Wear it Yellow campaign. Throughout the week, dedicated staff and volunteers will brighten up Somerset's streets, donned in yellow, while conducting bucket collections across the county. It's a heartwarming effort to ensure that hospice care continues to make a positive impact in the community.
