Somerset Dance Festival cancelled

Please note the Somerset Dance Festival due to take place outside Wells Cathedral tomorrow (Saturday, 15 June) has been cancelled.

Organisers of the event say they are disappointed to have to take the decision based on forecasts of rain in the morning and afternoon, on top of persistent downpours all week.

Reports from Wells on Friday 14 June said the green outside the cathedral was waterlogged  – with schools pressing for a decision it was felt cancelling the event was the sensible thing to do.

It will be sad news for children at schools across the county but it's hoped some may be able to perform in schools before the end of the term.
