Mark your calendars for a day of holiday cheer as Somerset Council confirms that its much-anticipated 'Christmas in Wells' market is set for Saturday, 16th December.

Operated by the council's Mendip Markets team, the seasonal extravaganza will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Wells Market Place and Bishop's Palace Green, showcasing over 100 stalls.

Visitors can look forward to a wide array of seasonal gifts, along with local food and drink, set against the picturesque backdrop of Wells city centre. Live music and entertainment will also be on hand to infuse the market with the spirit of the season.

"We're pulling out all the stops to ensure that this year's market is a sparkling occasion for our community," said Cllr Federica Smith-Roberts, Lead Member for Communities, Housing and Culture. "We've got a packed day of shopping, live entertainment and family fun, with a focus on supporting our regular and seasonal market traders during this crucial trading period."

The council aims for the market to be a memorable event for all, encouraging both residents and visitors to join in the festive spirit and show support for local businesses and stallholders.
