Shepton Mallet Big Band kicked off the Glastonbury Extravaganza on Saturday 3rd August, thrilling a sell-out crowd of 10,000 as they supported Hothouse Flowers and Keane.

The band opened the evening with a dynamic hour-long set, delighting the audience with a range of big band hits spanning several decades. Among the standout moments were a unique big band rendition of Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit," an energetic performance of "Proud Mary," and an instrumental take on "You Can't Stop the Beat" from Hairspray.

Following their impressive performance, the band is taking a well-deserved break for the rest of August but is already booking gigs for September and beyond.

For those interested in following the band's activities, you can keep up with them on Facebook at Shepton Mallet Big Band. For more information, contact them via email at [email protected].
