THE Wells Rotary Reindeer Parade that is watched each year by thousands of people will return for a 12th time on Sunday, December 9.

The opening will be performed by Mayor of Wells Councillor Celia Wride and the President of Wells Rotary at 10.50am. The parade through Wells of Santa Claus in his sleigh pulled by real reindeer will start at noon, led by Town Crier Len Sweales and the City of Wells Band.

Before and after the parade there will be music by bands and choirs plus rides and other entertainments in Wells Market Place.

There will also be a variety of stalls with festive food, drink, seasonal goods and gifts.

Last year's parade raised £2,500 through programme sales, donations from the public and support from the local business community. This money was passed on to support the vital work of the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance.

Programmes will again be available for £1 which will include a draw ticket.
