Reginald D Hunter and Adam Buxton to star at Wells Comedy Festival 2020

By Tim Lethaby 16th Jul 2021

The Wells Comedy Festival – now in its sixth year – returns in 2020 and has announced the first few shows for next year's Somerset shindig, including Reginald D Hunter and Adam Buxton.

Over the bank holiday weekend of May 22 to 24, England's smallest city plays host to a "weekend-long stand-up jamboree" (The Guardian), with dozens of comedy shows taking place at six venues in Wells, all within walking distance of one another.

Just announced are comedian, podcast host and Hot Fuzz star Adam Buxton reading from his new book, legendary controversial American comic Reginald D Hunter and gilet-wearing stand-up and James Acaster support act Stuart Laws.

All three shows are on sale now, as are four Gala shows – two on the Friday night, two on the Saturday night – showcasing a secret line-up of the best of the fest.

Ben Williams, founder and producer of the festival, said: "We're so excited to announce the first few shows for next year's festival – and so pleased that Dr Buckles and Reg D are making their festival debuts.

"Stay tuned for plenty more announcements in the new year."
