All traces that Barclays Bank ever inhabited the building at 9 Market Place could soon be removed.
Mendip District Council planners have approved an application to remove signage and the ATM on the outside of the building (and infill with stonework), and to remove all the counters, furniture, fixtures, fittings and equipment inside.
The branch closed in August this year.
