Plans submitted to convert office space around Insane Games in Wells into six flats

A planning application has been submitted to Mendip District Council for the conversion of office space around the Insane Games shop in Wells into six flats.

The application for prior approval to change of use of a building from office use (Use Class B1(a)) to dwellinghouses (Use Class C3) at 2 St Cuthbert Street, Wells, has been made by Ben Walters.

The shop will remain unaffected, but the proposed change of use of the upper floors and part of the ground floor is to form one two-bedroom flat, four one-bedroom flats and one studio flat.

Other planning applications submitted to Mendip District Council in the Wells area this week include:

Installation of an air conditioning unit to rear elevation of 4 Brownes Place, Tucker Street, Wells, has been applied for by Ms S McIntosh.

Rear extension, new roof/loft conversion and new double garage at 27 Wells Road, Wookey Hole, is wanted by Mr S Thatcher.

Proposed extension to existing outbuilding to create a gym and games room at South Mill House, Bishop's Park Way to Constitution Hill, Dulcote, has been applied for by Mr and Mrs Bennett.

Construction of nine three bed dwellings with associated parking and upgrade to existing access following demolition of a 4/5 bedroom house and three number park homes, relocation of one park home and removal of one park home plot at Homestead Park, Wells Road, Wookey Hole, is wanted by Mr Daniel Medley.

Application for a proposed lawful development certificate for the formation of structural opening at ground floor level erection of single storey lean to rear extension at Honeysuckle Cottage, Woodford Road, Woodford, Wells, has been made by Mr Chris Donoghue.

Erection of summer house/entertainment room at Redhill Farm, Townsend Lane, Emborough, has been applied for by Mr Alan Brown.

Planning applications in the Wells area that have been decided this week by Mendip District Council include:

Construction of two agricultural buildings, for the housing of calves, and store, office and electrical switchroom, with concrete hard standing and permeable gravel area for access to buildings (Phase 1) at Wigmore Farm, Roemead Road, Chewton Mendip, by Mrs Penny Wiseman has been approved.

Application for discharge of conditions 3 (tree plan and method statement) and 4 (roof materials) on planning consent 2015/1177/HSE at 7 Ash Grove, Wells, by Miss Laura Benedict has been approved.

Proposed boarding of existing attic space and replacement loft ladder at 14 Lower Chapel Court, Moffats Drive, South Horrington, by Mr David Lees has been approved.

Erection of two storey rear extension at 13 Bennell Cottages, Wells Road, Chilcompton, by Mr Steve Handover has been approved.

Single storey rear lounge extension and single storey front lobby extension at 14 Everett Close, Wells, by Ms O Perry has been approved.

Change of use of agricultural yard and paddock to residential and construction of timber garage, garage to consist of 2 open parking bays and a garden store at The Barn Hill House, Farm Lane, Launcherley, by Mrs K Open has been approved.

Rear extension and joinery alterations at 2 Chamberlain Street, Wells, by Mr Simon Armstrong have been approved.

Re-site pole mounted transformer and remove flying stay span and pole 16/1027/3 at Ebbor Hall, Kennel Batch, Wookey Hole, by Western Power Distribution has been approved.
