A planning application has been submitted for the building of 148 homes to the north of Wookey Hole Road in Wells.

The application, from Land Allocations Ltd, is for 104 houses and 44 social housing units on 7.2 hectares of farmland next to Underwood Business Park.

Access to the site would be from Wookey Hole Road via a new access, and it is situated opposite another site given approval for 203 homes in April last year.

The new proposed housing site is outside of the Mendip District Council Local Plan proposed development area for Wells, but it does sit next to the boundary.
