A new walking cricket initiative has started at the Wells Leisure Centre, welcoming local residents aged 50 and above to join the sport.

The programme, run by the Somerset Cricket Foundation, encourages both men and women to engage in low-impact physical activity while enjoying the social aspect of the game.

All necessary playing equipment is provided, with games played using a softball or wind ball.

Mus Shaikh from the Somerset Cricket Foundation urges anyone interested to get in touch. "It's a fantastic way to stay active, meet new people, and have fun all at the same time," Shaikh said.

Participants can contact Mus at [email protected] or on 07385 818493 to reserve their spot.

Additionally, potential players can join the Facebook group at https://www.facebook.com/groups/walkingcricketsomerset for more information.
