Four news shops could soon be opening in Wells.

Home and lifestyle store, Cedar House Lifestyle is set to open any day now in the old TSB (42-42A High Street). The planned opening was put back, after the heatwave caused delays to the painting, but it is hoped that the store will be opening this month.

An application has been submitted to Mendip District Council, asking permission to change the use of 56 High Street (formerly occupied by Santé) to a nail salon.

Pizza chain Dominos wants to open in the empty unit in Prince's Yard, next to Pets at Home, and has asked the council for permission for the signage.

And Screwfix has confirmed that it will be opening in Wells. They are currently recruiting for staff – but they won't say where or when the store will open. Local speculation, however, suggests that it could be behind the old Cold Store.
