A new café called Niche looks set to open in Wells market place this spring, taking over the former TwentyOne premises in the Market Place, which closed in April last year after declaring bankruptcy.

Andre and Sue Wintersgill have announced they expect to receive the keys to the building within the next month and plan to transform the space into a high-quality daytime venue offering coffee, cakes, breakfasts, and lunches. They are also considering private evening dining for special events.

In a post on Facebook, Andre said: "We are going to work incredibly hard to make it a quality establishment."

After receiving the keys, the team expects to spend around four weeks planning, cleaning, and redecorating the space, with hopes of opening in March if all goes to plan.
