NatWest has squashed rumours that its Wells branch is facing closure.

Concerns among local customers had grown recently, fuelled by rumours about the potential shutting down of the branch as part of wider cost-cutting measures across the banking sector.

A spokesperson from NatWest addressed these concerns directly, stating, "I can confirm there are no plans to close this branch."

The bank has already issued a list of the banks it is intending to close across the UK this year, and in 2025.

This statement has provided much-needed reassurance to NatWest's customers in Wells, who rely on the branch for a range of banking services.

The rumours had caused unease in the community, with many residents and small business owners expressing worries about the inconvenience and potential disruption a closure could cause.

The spokesperson added: "The Wells branch of NatWest continues to operate as usual, providing full services to its customers and contributing to the local economy."
