A construction company started in Wells 100 years ago, Melhuish & Saunders, celebrate their centennial year with a daring charity event – abseiling for the Somerset Wildlife Trust (SWT).

The firm, a corporate member of the SWT, has pledged to raise £500 in much-needed funds for the local charity.

The brave participants from the company include Darryl Mitchard, Lucy Mitchard, Ethan Mitchard, Ava Mitchard, Bella Mitchard, Robert Morgan, Kevin Bird, and Bobby Vining.

They will be stepping back over a 130ft cliff to abseil to the bottom, all in the name of conservation.

The charity event, 'Abseil for Wildlife!', will take place on 23rd September 2023, offering stunning views across the Bristol Channel.

The team at Melhuish & Saunders say they are committed to protecting the wildlife and natural landscapes of Somerset, and every penny raised will contribute to this cause.

If you'd like to support the cause by making a donation, visit the Melhuish & Saunders fundraising page. Your contributions will help protect Somerset's wildlife and wild places for future generations.
