Information from hundreds of historical documents relating to Wells is now available to view for free thanks to new online databases.

Wells City Archives have launched the databases which have records of Wells Petty Sessions 1850-1874, a City Property Register from 1860 (including old street maps and and lists of new and old street names) and Sacrament Certificates from 1689 to 1765.

They contain some fascinating, and useful information relating to family history, house history, local history and social history.

A spokesman for Wells City Council said: "Thanks to the City Archives volunteers whose work made this possible."

The databases contain information on how to search them to find specific information, and they are available to use free of charge. You can find the databases HERE.
