Police responded to reports of an unauthorised music event in a woodland area near Wells over the weekend.

The incident, which took place near Priddy in the Mendip Hills, was reported to Avon and Somerset Police at approximately 10:40 p.m. on Saturday, 21st October.

Authorities arrived at Stockhill Woods just before midnight and maintained a presence until around 8:30 a.m. the following morning.

A spokesperson for the police stated that officers engaged in conversation with attendees, regularly checked the situation through the night, and took note of vehicles parked at the location.

The police report clarified: "We first received a call at about 10.40 p.m. on Saturday 21 October regarding an overnight unlicensed music event in a wooded area, near Priddy.

"The first officers attended about an hour later. The unlicensed music event was already underway and officers engaged with those people on site. Officers regularly monitored the area throughout the night and the number of attendees reduced. Details of some vehicles on site were recorded.

"The event ended at about 8:30 a.m. and officers resumed patrols shortly afterwards."
