Historic Wells pub set to reopen with new landlords
A Wells pub that has been serving pints for over 300 years is set to reopen after a shock closure last year.
The Globe Inn is getting a fresh start with new landlords, and an opening date is slated for later this month.
Chris Iles and Melissa Trott will take over The Globe on Monday, 15 July, with plans to have the pub back in action about a week later.
Chris shared their excitement on Facebook, saying, "We look forward to running this once well-loved pub and becoming a part of the community, as well as living in the heart of this beautiful place. If you have any suggestions on what you would like to see being done for you at The Globe, please feel free to leave a comment, all will be greatly appreciated. We look forward to seeing you all soon."
The Globe closed its doors last November, leaving locals dismayed when former landlords Dan and Mandy announced they wouldn't be reopening after what was initially a 'temporary closure.' The unexpected news came as a blow to the community, who had come to cherish the pub as a local staple.
