Hazardous Substance Leak at Kilver Street, Shepton Mallet

Date: 22.05.2019Time: 08:50Location: Kilver Street, Shepton MalletFire crews from Shepton Mallet, Wells and Castle Cary along with the Environmental Protection Unit from Taunton, were mobilised to a report of an ammonia leak at a Premises at the above location.Fire crews isolated the leak of approximately 600 kilos of ammonia within a refridgeration system using breathing apparatus wearers, gas tight suits and thermal image cameras. There was no impact to the environment from the leak.
