Hays Travel have confirmed they will be opening in the former Thomas Cook store in Wells High Street within a few weeks.

Back in October, Hays confirmed they were buying all Thomas Cook store sites after latter went into liquidation.

Now Hays, who are the UK's largest independent travel agents, have confirmed they will be opening in Wells soon.

Danny Marish, regional sales manager, told Wells Nub News: "We have re-employed two of the former staff and are currently recruiting others.

"Once recruitment has been completed in the coming weeks we will re-open the shop.

"We are looking to employ four more people in Wells including a dedicated Foreign Exchange role which is new to the branch. We are also looking for a branch manager."
