Greggs in Wells could double in size. Currently located at 37 High Street, the bakery chain now wants to extend into the neighbouring empty premises at number 39 (formerly Carphone Warehouse.) Mendip District Council have received an application requesting permission to relocate the existing air conditioning units from the first floor to the ground floor, erect two. fascia signs and one projecting sign, re-paint the exterior and carry out internal refurbishment with the creation of two door openings, flooring, ceiling and wall coverings, electrics, lighting, plumbing-WC and HVAC.
