A Good Samaritan has come forward to return a young barber's lost wages, just in time for Christmas.

The barber, who lost a week's earnings earlier this month in Wells, was reunited with his wages thanks to the selfless act of a local resident.

This kind gesture came after the barber's family, friends, and colleagues had made appeals through community groups.

A spokesperson for the Mendip Neighbourhood Policing said: "This individual, who found the wages, wasn't aware of the ongoing appeals. They sought no praise or recognition; their only intention was to do the right thing."

Thanks to this anonymous Samaritan, the barber's festive season has been saved, bringing a little extra cheer to the community.
