A soft play centre in Wells is one of the first in the country to be awarded a coveted gold status.

The Association of Indoor Play, the trade association for the indoor play sector in the United Kingdom gave the Square the award, so parents can be assured the centre is being run by experienced, professional play experts who ensure their young customers are enjoying high-quality equipment.

Gold status centres operate to the highest standards, abide by a strict Professional Code of Conduc and commit to creating play environments that deliver visible challenge and risk within well-developed safety standards.

The Square is one of only five establishments in the UK who have been certified gold, and the only one in the country to gain the 'Environmental' standard, for their green credentials.

Steve Wilson, who owns The Square said: "We may be a modest size compared to many other play centres, and we have a very small team, but I'm proud that we punch above our weight when it comes to standards and professionalism.
