Looking to make the most of your weekend in Wells? Whether you're a fan of sparkling fireworks, sustainable living, or the Christmas spirit, there's something for everyone in our local area.

Kick off your weekend with a bang at the Wells City FC fireworks display on Friday, 3 November. The gates open at 5 pm, and the fireworks start at 7:30 pm. Adults pay £5, children £3, and family tickets are available for £15.

If fixing things is more your speed, the Wells Repair Café will be open on Saturday, 4 November, from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm at St Thomas' Church. Organised by Sustainable Wells, this event offers a chance to mend rather than discard your broken items.

Fancy some shopping? The Christmas Artisan Market is taking place at The Bishop's Palace & Gardens from Saturday to Sunday, 4–5 November. Get started on that festive shopping list or just soak in the Christmas atmosphere.

After all that activity, treat yourself to some afternoon tea at The Loft in Wells Cathedral. The relaxing event is scheduled for Saturday at 14:30.

Cap off your Saturday with Choral Evensong at Wells Cathedral from 17:15 to 18:00. An enriching way to end your day.

Then on Sunday, 5 November, why not attend the Monthly social at the Wells Christmas Market at The Bishop's Palace & Gardens? The gathering runs from 11:00 am to 13:00 pm.

After the social, you can head over to Freecycle, another Sustainable Wells event, which runs from 13:00 to 14:00 on Priory Rd. Give away stuff you don't need and find stuff you do – for free!

If you're looking to help the kids blow off some steam The Square has play sessions available over the weekend. You might also want to know that they've introduced an after-school session on Fridays, available from 4pm to 6pm, that comes with a fish & chip meal from Tuckers.

Priced at £9.95, this package includes one child's entry, one child's meal, and one adult entry. Remember, you must book by midday on Thursday for the Friday session and make sure you pick your meal when you book.

If you're looking for a more relaxed outing, Wells Film Centre is offering £5 tickets until the end of the year. It's the perfect opportunity to catch a film you might have missed, without breaking the bank.
