Former Wells student Edgar Wright signs Game of Thrones star for new movie

Edgar Wright, the former Wells Blue School student who famous directed and shot the cult movie Hot Fuzz in the city, has signed Game of Thrones star Dame Diana Rigg for his new movie.

Wright is currently working on Last Night In Soho, a psychological thriller film, and shooting has recently started in central London.

Wright is directing from a screenplay he co-write with Krysty Wilson-Cairns, a writer on Penny Dreadful. Wright is also producing the film, alongside Nira Park (Hot Fuzz), Tim Bevan (Baby Driver) and Eric Fellner (Darkest Hour).

Dame Diana starred recently as Olenna Tyrell in Game of Thrones, having originally found fame in the 1960s in The Avengers.

Also announced at the same time is Terence Stamp, who can currently be seen in Murder Mystery alongside Jennifer Aniston and Adam Sandler. He was General Zod in Superman I and II, and was Chancellor Valorum in Star Wars Episode I - The Phantom Menace.

Already signed up for Last Night In Soho are Doctor Who star Matt Smith, Anya Taylor-Joy from Glass, and Doctor Zhivago's Rita Tushingham.
