Success comes guaranteed for four charities tomorrow.

They are Children's World, Hope for Tomorrow, SODA (Society for Disabled Artists) and Sustainable Wells.

The audience pays £5 on the door for a choice of soups, a bread roll and a memorable lunchtime before hearing four charities tell their stories and voting on which should have the biggest of the four cheques.

That money is then match-funded, on Saturday by Wells health practitioners Jenny Hodgson and Rob Parnell.

The venue is the Connect Centre at the junction of Chamberlain Street and Portway, Wells. The start time is 1pm but arrive early to get a good seat.

SOUP is organised by Wells Independents, whose Ross Young said: "We are proud that SOUP passed through our 50 target in April of local charities and projects we've helped so far.

"Another four will present on Saturday, July 13 and they represent a great mix – helping the environment, cancer sufferers, disabled artists and children.

"The support we get has grown over the years but there is still room for more. Do come and experience SOUP – you will not be disappointed."

Claire Hak from Heads Up will be there to tell the audience how the South Horrington-based mental health charity are using the £400 they received at April's SOUP.

The two choices of soup will be made by the young chefs from the Eat Wise Cookery Club at the Wells Blue School's Training Kitchen.

"We are very happy to be supporting the community and enjoy making soup to benefit charities," said the students' tutor Charlie Chambers.

The rolls are being donated by Burns the Bread, the wine by Sante, beer and other drinks by Morrisons, vegetables from Waitrose, while Micky from Wells market is giving the flowers.
