Driver flees after overnight collision in Wells: Silver Mercedes overturned on North Road

A silver Mercedes CDI ended up on its roof following an overnight collision on North Road, Wells.

Avon and Somerset Police received a call at around 12.30am on Friday, 28 July, reporting the incident. The witness reported that the driver had left the scene on foot after the accident.

On arrival at the scene, police officers discovered that the Mercedes had collided with two parked cars and a wall.

Thankfully, no injuries were reported from the incident.

Upon further investigation, initial checks suggest that the Mercedes had been using false plates at the time of the collision.

An Avon and Somerset Police spokesperson said, "The driver had reportedly fled the scene on foot. Officers found the vehicle had collided with two parked cars and a wall. There were no reported injuries. Initial checks suggest the Mercedes was on false plates."
