Crandon Springs Care Home Residents Enjoy Fun-Filled Pub Quiz Evening

Residents and families at Crandon Springs Care Home in Wells, Somerset, recently came together for a lively Pub Quiz Night, which proved to be a huge success.
The evening saw five teams take part in four fascinating rounds of questions covering general knowledge, sports, science and nature, and history. Guests enjoyed beer, wine, soft drinks, and snacks as they put their knowledge to the test in a warm and friendly atmosphere.
After an evening of fun competition, two teams tied for first place: The Tucks, made up of a resident Val and her family, and The Snowbirds, a group of residents. They were crowned joint winners and in true Crandon Springs spirit, they celebrated by sharing the prize, a large box of chocolates, with everyone.
Resident Roger summed up the evening by saying it was "very enjoyable", while fellow resident Christine expressed her gratitude to the Activities Team, thanking them for organising the event that was "so much fun."
The Pub Quiz is just one of many regular games and activities that residents at Crandon Springs enjoy. From board games, including fast-paced classics like Hungry Hippos, which always sparks plenty of laughter, to resident Tony's much-loved monthly quiz, which recently revealed fascinating facts such as John Lewis, founder of the famous department store, was born in nearby Shepton Mallet, and bananas are the UK's favourite fruit.
Commenting on the Pub Quiz, Meg Cleal, General Manager, said: "Our residents really enjoy quizzes and games, they're a wonderful way to keep the brain active while socialising and having fun. We have a vibrant community spirit at Crandon Springs, where residents, families, and staff enjoy coming together to socialise. Special evening events like the Pub Quiz are particularly enjoyable, and this one was so successful that we are already considering making it a regular feature at the home."
