The reopening of Tramways, located on West Street in Wells, remains uncertain following a fire that broke out on April 30.

The Tramways committee has expressed their gratitude for the outpouring of community support in the aftermath of the incident.

In a recent Facebook update, the committee stated: "We would like to thank everyone for their kindness and offers of help. We are touched by everyone reaching out to us. We would also like to thank the emergency services who were so quick to respond. We are just waiting for insurers to do what they need to do before we can let you all know any information and a timescale on when we will reopen."

The Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service has reported that the exact cause of the fire could not be determined.
