Care Team Creates Relaxing Spa Experience For Residents at Crandon Springs Care Home
By Ruth Cooke 16th Jun 2026
Residents at Crandon Springs Care Home in Wells, Somerset, recently enjoyed a calming spa-inspired wellbeing session, thoughtfully created by the home's dedicated care team. The experience featured softly muted lighting, gentle music, and soothing hand and arm massages designed to promote relaxation, comfort, and wellbeing.
A dedicated room on the home's Memory Lane community was transformed into a peaceful spa-room retreat where residents could relax and enjoy some well-deserved pampering. To ensure everyone could take part if they wanted to, care staff also visited residents in their own rooms to provide hand and arm massages for those who preferred not to attend the spa room.
The sessions offered residents an opportunity to unwind while benefiting from therapeutic touch, which can help reduce stress, encourage relaxation, improve circulation, and support emotional wellbeing. The experience also provided valuable one-to-one time between residents and staff.
Residents were full of praise for the initiative. Doreen said, "Oh, that's lovely, very nice." Pauline commented, "I feel so calm and relaxed, Liza is very good." Peter, who had not experienced a spa before, said, "That was an interesting and very pleasant experience." Sue described the treatment as "amazing, I really needed that."
Darius Ivana, Home Manager at Crandon Springs, said: "It was wonderful to see residents enjoying such a relaxing and positive experience. These wellbeing sessions are about much more than pampering; they provide comfort, companionship and meaningful connection. Our team was delighted to bring a little spa experience to residents, whether in the spa room or in the comfort of their own bedrooms."
