For National Volunteers Week, building contractors Melhuish and Saunders have been highlighting the work of their community partners, including the Orchard Vale Trust in Wookey.

The trust supports adults with learning difficulties, and as it's National Volunteers Week, Melhuish and Saunders would like to give a thumbs up to all those working in the voluntary sector including unpaid carers and all those making a positive contribution to their communities.

In additional to sponsoring the sister site to Wells Nub News - Glastonbury Nub News - Melhuish and Saunders are corporate members of Somerset Wildlife Trust and have been actively supporting the Orchard Vale Trust, the Somerset Football Association and the Fumblers rounders team.

Latest news can be found on the Community Links page of the company's website which can be found here: https://www.melhuishandsaundersltd.com/community-links/.

Also, Melhuish and Saunders are celebrating NHS and key workers by installing rainbow banners at their construction sites across the South West.

Following the discovery of political graffiti on site hoardings at the rear of the Avalon Plastics factory site on Street Road, Glastonbury, where Melhuish and Saunders are building a steel framed extension, managing director Darryl Mitchard responded with a positive NHS statement of his own.

He commissioned Glastonbury firm Em Print and Signs to produce large scale weatherproof banners which are going up on all live construction sites in Somerset and Bristol areas.

The banners have created a feel good boost to all contractors on site who are working hard to progress works on site during this year's incredibly long spell of hot, dry weather. Still, everyone would agree that it beats working in the wind and the rain.
