Following updated guidance from the government, Brownes Garden Centre on the edge of Wells will reopen next week.

Owner Jon Browne confirmed today (May 12) to Wells Nub News that he will be reopening the garden centre on Monday (May 18).

Despite garden centres being able to reopen from tomorrow (May 13), Jon said he is waiting until Monday due to the number of home delivery orders he still has to fulfil and that he has to get the buildings organised for social distancing measures and customer flow.

The garden centre will be operating reduced opening hours of 10am to 4pm, Mondays to Saturdays, and closed on Sundays.

Brownes Garden Centre has been operating in one form or another for more than 200 years and through eight generations of the same family, making it one of the longest surviving family-run enterprises in the city.
