May 4th marked the launch of Bernie's Kitchen at 38 Market Street, breathing new life into the premises formerly occupied by the micro-pub, 'Just Ales'.

The team behind Bernie's Kitchen is a unique father-daughter duo - Michelle Phippen and Steve Crook. Steve, who boasts a diverse culinary background, has left his mark on the local hospitality scene, playing the roles of both landlord and chef at 'The Pheasant' in Wookey and other surrounding pubs.

Now, he's teaming up with his daughter Michelle to embark on this new venture that celebrates the rich culinary heritage of Wells.

At Bernie's Kitchen, diners are welcomed into a cosy atmosphere where a range of delicious dishes awaits, including grilled steaks, baked fish, and an enticing Cajun chicken specialty.
