Twelve-year-old Aaliyah Ali and her friends held a bake sale in Wells last week to raise funds for Bristol Children's Hospital.

They decided to raise money for the charity after one of their friends was recently diagnosed with cancer, and another friend has been receiving treatment at the hospital throughout his life.

The bakes proved very popular and the girls raised £525.25.

Aaliyah's mum, Sue – who runs Andres Kitchen with her partner Andre Wintersgill, said: "It was fantastic. They sold out in three hours and the amount of money they raised is amazing."
