The city's Royal Air Force Air Cadet squadron is recruiting. If you or a family member are aged between 12-17 and are in Year 8 or above, you are welcome at the Joint Cadet Centre, Webb's Close, Wells BA5 2GG on Thursday 24^th September at 7.10pm to find out what life in the Air Cadets involves.

"From cyber and space to sports, flying and adventure training - being a cadet means trying new things in a safe environment, making friends along the way and gaining skills for life," said Acting Pilot Officer George Young.

"As well as Thursday evening parade nights in Wells, cadets get the chance to visit RAF bases and MoD facilities across the country on weekend and week-long camps throughout the year. These give young people the chance to develop independence, make new friends, and learn new skills."

The Air Cadets also support the local community, with fundraisers both for the squadron and other local charities building ties with other local groups. The squadron parades in mid-Somerset for Remembrance Sunday, Armed Forces Day, and in memory of the Battle of Britain.
