The Wells & Mendip Museum is set to host an interesting talk by Paul Thorner titled "From Clerical Officer to Chief Executive: Tales from life along the way".

The talk will take place on Friday, April 28th at 7pm in the Lecture Hall at the back of the museum on Cathedral Green Wells.

Thorner's talk will focus on his time at the Mendip Hospital, where he started as a Clerical Officer in 1969 and worked until 1983. He will share his memories of working with and alongside the patients and staff of this important institution in the social history of Wells. The talk will also cover the later history of the hospital.

The Wells & Mendip Museum also encourages attendees to share their stories and experiences.

There is no charge to attend the talk, but the museum requests donations towards the Friends of Mendip Hospital Cemetery, which continues to preserve the site's important history. The site, saved from development in 2001, requires support to continue its preservation efforts.

Tea, coffee, and biscuits will be provided at the event.

This talk promises to be a unique opportunity to learn about the history of Mendip Hospital and gain insights into the experiences of those who worked there.
