The Somerset Coroner has opened an inquest into the Wells man who died earlier this month after a shooting incident.

He has also formally named the deceased.

In a statement the coroner Tony Williams wrote: "I write to confirm that yesterday, 27 May 2020, I opened an inquest into the death of Glen Travis Newstead of 9 Everett Close, Wells, Somerset.

" I confirmed that Glen Newstead was 56 years old when he was confirmed dead on 19 May 2020. I have only limited information presently available to me but I understand that Glen Newstead was found dead in bed with a gunshot wound.

"A preliminary post mortem has returned the cause of death as Unascertained pending toxicology results becoming available but the post mortem examination confirmed the gunshot wound."
