Albion String Quartet
Cedars Hall
Music
UNTIL Friday 3rd February
Performing on a fine collection of instruments, including a Stradivarius and Guarnerius, the Albion Quartet's playing is '…masterly in its vividness, freedom and sensitivity.' (Sunday Times).
Continuing their residency at Cedars Hall, the quartet brings masterpieces by the Austrian composer who virtually invented the string quartet genre in the 18th century and a Russian whose cycle of 15 quartets redefined its possibilities in the 20th.
Led by Tamsin Waley- Cohen, the Albions also perform a brand new work by her sister Freya which the Aldeburgh Festival commissioned.
