Wells archers scoop seven medals at county championships

Wells City Archers claimed a haul of medals at the Somerset Indoor County Championships on Sunday, 9 November, held at Hutton Moor Leisure Centre in WestonsuperMare.
The Wellsbased club had the biggest team turnout of the day and returned with seven medals, including four golds and a team award.
Connor Pinder took gold in the men's recurve, while Clare Hudsmith won the women's U16 recurve. Jay Nickholds secured bronze in the men's barebow, and Mandy Thorpe claimed gold in the women's barebow. In the longbow categories, Richard Gregory won silver for the men's event, and Sue Elkins took gold in the women's. The team award was presented to Pinder, Thorpe and Steve Bassett.
The club called it an "incredible day", attributing success to the hard work of its coaching team and archers.
Wells City Archers runs regular beginners' courses and welcomes new members of all abilities.
