Wells Festival of Literature has announced the dates that next year's event will take place – with preparations already underway.

Organisers have said the 2023 festival will take place from Friday 27 October to Saturday 4 November, in Cedars Hall.

The 2022 festival was the 30th held in the city and was record-breaking for organisers, more tickets were sold than ever before - 6,400 in total. 895 books were bought in the Waterstones pop-up shop, and there were several sell-out events.

The huge success of our 30th Anniversary 2022 Festival will enable the festival to build on their active education programme which works closely with local schools to help develop a love of literature from an early age. In addition, organisers continue to support the literacy charity Coram Beanstalk.

With the dates confirmed, the committee has already started to working on next year's event, approaching publishers and authors and choosing competition judges.
