PIANO MASTERS 1: Paul Lewis
Cedars Hall, Wells
UNTIL Thursday 30th September
After four years trying to find a gap in his schedule, Paul Lewis is finally coming to Cedars Hall.
The son of a Liverpool docker with no musicians in his family, Paul is now one of the world's leading pianists.
His acclaimed performances of Beethoven and Schubert have confirmed his reputation as one of the foremost interpreters of the European classical repertoire.
For his Wells debut, he begins a new exploration of Russian piano masterpieces including Mussorgsky's epic Pictures at an Exhibition together with music by Scriabin, Mozart and Mendelssohn.
In a 2016 interview, however, Lewis revealed that his musical guilty pleasure was the 1968 single Paralyzed by the Legendary Stardust Cowboy. This promises to be a fascinating evening.
