Long-standing Wells residents and members of Radstock Co-operative Society, Wendy & Paul Treasure, recently marked six decades of marital bliss.

The couple commemorated their diamond wedding anniversary on the 30th March 2023, celebrating the milestone with family in Peasedown St John.

To honour the special occasion, our Radstock Co-operative society CEO, Don Morris, and Society's president, Graham Jeffery, visited Wendy and Paul, presenting them with a collection of gifts from the Society.

The couple's love story began in Wells, where they met at a dance organised by the EMI club at Mendip Hospital.

A year later, they exchanged vows at Binegar church and celebrated their union at the well-known Mermaid Inn in Wells.

When asked about the secret to their long-lasting marriage, Wendy and Paul expressed the importance of mutual support and understanding.

"The most important thing is to be there for one another through all of life's challenges. As well as a bit of give & take!" they say.
